In January 2011 I was asked to perform at the 40th birthday party for family friend Andrew Pearce at his house in Windsor. It was a 70s theme so I thought about what I could dress the band (jamie and the first class) a little differently . After a long two seconds I thought we could dress up as my favourite childhood band….. Kiss. I was going to be performing to many family friends so it had to be good! It took a long time to source the costumes, wigs and accessories, some of which I had to make myself. The make up and dressing up process took us about 2 hours but it was all worth while in the end. Nick Hill was dressed as Ace Frehley and somehow ended up with a red wig! Here is a picture of us with the host Andrew.
Kevin looked brilliant as the demon and I looked ridiculous as the star man with my home made outfit and platform boots. Such was my disguise that nobody at the party recognised me or the band as we went up to perform. There was people I had known my entire life and they had no idea who I was!
The response from the audience was phenomenal, they couldn’t take their eyes off us and didn’t stop dancing the whole night!
The Glam Rocks were born , it was the beginning of many more crazy nights!
It was such good fun and we had loads of enquiries so we decided to do it again and again!
It was quite hard to get used to the platform boots in the beginning but we rocked the house! Most people had seen the band perform as our 1960s tribute act The Zoots so nobody recognised us at all!
It was such a fantastic evening which saw the birth of The Glam Rocks.
